How to make things better

Today I want to talk about taking action and making a difference.

And also to boast about my child.

Earlier this summer, we were visiting my mom in Florida, and went out for dinner.

Florida, of course, is host to many abominations . . . and among them, in this restaurant, was a filthy lobster tank fitted with one of those grabby-claw games. You know, like:

A cartoon gif of an arcade toy crane game with the crane moving back and forth above a pile of toys making various different faces.

It was so gross in so many ways.

Later that evening, I saw my eldest daughter concentrating over a piece of loose-leaf paper at the table of our AirBnb.

She was writing a letter to the restaurant, asking them to remove the lobster tank.

The letter was eloquent, heartfelt, and considerate, but also very firm.

(This apple did not fall far from her tree)

We hand-delivered the letter the next day, and left Florida the day after.

Yesterday, my mom called to say she'd gone for dinner at the pizza place, and the lobster tank was gone.

She asked the staff what happened, and they said, "I don't know. The owner just had it removed a couple weeks ago. And thank god - it was horrible and made us so sad."

Now.

We KNOW my baby girl made that happen.

We see she put her actions where her ideals are.

We love that she hasn't given up hope, hasn't discounted her agency.

We want that kind of changemaking integrity for ourselves,

don't we?

Today, we have a Venus cazimi in the middle of a Venus retrograde in Leo.

While every day is a day to act in alignment with our values, to make choices that help us live in full integrity . . .

ESPECIALLY today is the day to do that.

So:

Where do you need to take a stand for yourself and your values?

Where do you need to invest in more support for yourself and your community?

Where do you need to let your lionheart roar, and what will help you do that?

And what, seriously WHAT, are you waiting for?

love,

Natalie
