A lesson I just keep learning ✍️

Nothing erodes self-belief like overextension.

Because:

1. The more spread-thin we are, the less potent we are.

2. The more we say Yes where we ought to say No, the less we trust ourselves.

3. The more exhausted we get, the less capable we feel.

A young Black girl in what appears to be a classroom wearing a polka dot blouse and a Chartreuse color cardigan standing in front of a chalk board with complicated mathematical formulas written on it. She turns from the chalkboard to face the someone saying, “You can check it if you want. But it’s factual.”

This is the most vicious cycle, because:

Shit is not working

and

you want to make a change

but

the change feels scary

plus

you have neither time nor energy to figure out What's Next

much less

the courage and self-trust to actually DO What's Next

so

you keep on keeping on

and

become even more dogged and self-doubtful - maybe even ill -

and so

this shit is extra much not working

and worst of all

you blame yourself.

I know for sure that you can break this cycle.

You can, choice by choice, regain integrity and re-build self-trust.

You can, move by move, build a life that energizes rather than exhausts you.

Please know: you will probably need help.

(p.s.sssssss: not asking for help is a major contributing factor to this whole shituation)

I know this from repeated personal and professional experience.

But on the other side, here is what you will find:

- Your calendared events for the day delight you.

- You have plenty of time & energy for your afternoon walk.

- Your partner is suggesting a fun new idea for date night.

- You feel more and more confident, grounded, expansive, FREE.

To come and get all this:

Stop doing what you'd rather not.

Start doing what you actually want.

Ask for what you need.

And if that's way harder than you thought, call me.

love,

Natalie
