I know your inner Manager is positively bedeviled with meetings et cetera,

but if I could have a moment, please?

Listen here:

You cannot time-manage your way into freedom.

You cannot team-manage your way into fulfilling work.

You cannot mind-manage your way into confidence.

You cannot money-manage your way into real wealth.

Freedom, fulfillment, confidence, wealth:

these are not managerial pursuits.

They're not even executive-level concerns.

To feel rich and free and abundant and empowered in our everyday lives,

we need deep and true and thorough self-honoring.

That sort of thing doesn't appear in a quarterly plan,

or result from an optimized schedule.

No.

Deep and true and thorough self-honoring is a practice.

An ethos.

As the kids would say: a whole vibe.

It's simple, but not easy -

especially if you're a big-hearted go-getter,

and even more if you're conditioned to put everyone else's needs and opinions ahead of your own.

To practice deep and true and thorough self-honoring

in this pushpushpush, gimmegimmegimme world,

you need to slow down,

set boundaries,

sink into countercultural support,

and learn to love your whole self.
