Just 3.5 hours southwest of DC, in the beautiful countryside of Buckingham County, VA, the Ashram at Yogaville makes urban bustle seem a world away. Here, life moves at the speed of life, and there's ample time and space for rest and reflection.

And reading for fun. And knitting. And naps.

Our group resides in the Lotus Conference Center, a seven-bedroom house on the outskirts of Yogaville’s campus. The house has shared bedrooms with twin or bunk beds, plenty of shared bathrooms, comfy common areas, and a fully-equipped kitchen. Outside is a large veranda overlooking the river, as well as a large hot tub. The ashram’s main campus is a 10-15 min walk away.

The yoga is plentiful and varied, so you can do as many or few of the practices as you wish. Practices will be 60-90 minutes - some are challenging, some are low-key. All are geared to students with yoga experience.

This year, my lovely friend Tricia Kull joins us to offer two fascia release sessions. You lovely people are going to feel SO GOOD.

Here's the schedule:

    8p - grounding, settling welcome practice (60 min)
    7:30a - perfectly balanced yoga & meditation (60 min)
    11a - silent yoga: standing poses - vigorous (60 min)
    4p - flow and fascia release (90 min)
    7:30a - perfectly balanced yoga & meditation (60 min)
    11a - very sweet shoulder & hip openers (75 min)
    4p - flow and fascia release (90 min)
    8:30a - yoga to prepare for re-entry (90 min)

Our cozy practice space is right in our house, fully equipped with props and featuring a breathtaking view of the James River.

A lovely feature of this retreat is tons of free quiet time for you to do whatever makes you happy.

Sit out on the veranda with the book you've been meaning to read. Go for a hike in the nearby woods. Work on a puzzle in our dining room. Bring your knitting, your journal, your drawing stuff, that coloring book you bought last year.

Visit Yogaville’s Lotus sanctuary, or hang out in their little cafe. Get whisked away for a massage. Take naps. Soak in our hot tub. Do nothing at all.

This retreat is semi-silent, so we practice silence from 10p until 4p the next day.

(It's barely weird at all. Once everyone sinks into the silence, the house feels so friendly and spacious. I promise!)

Many of us are eager to connect and chat from 4 to 10p, but people also feel completely welcome to keep to themselves.

Our shared silence is profoundly restorative, and allows us to re-center and settle deeply into ourselves.

The yoga during our quiet time is either has minimal instruction or is all-the-way quiet. The whole community shares silent lunch in the dining hall on campus - this lovely experience, in fact, inspired this whole offering!


Light breakfast (yes, we have coffee!) is informal and at home, in our house's fully-equipped kitchen.

For our silent lunch and talky dinner, we head to the ashram's dining hall - about a 12 minute walk or 3 minute drive away - for delicious, vegetarian, buffet-style meals.

We'll have our first dinner together on Friday evening, and most people leave after Monday lunch.

You are welcome to BYO snacks, too!


Sweet, simple, shared rooms have either two beds (semi-private registration) or two sets of bunk beds (shared registration).

Linens and towels are provided, and roommate requests are welcome!

There are plenty of shared bathrooms, and lots of comfy common space both indoor and out.

Your registration includes 4 days, 3 nights' accommodation, 9 meals, and all 8 yoga classes. There are two accommodation options:

Shared: bunk bed, room shared with up to 3 others: $575
Semi-private: twin bed in a room shared with up to 1 other: $775

Earliest birds get dibs on any extra space we might have!

We love early commitments! Sometimes we have extra space and we're able to offer a few single rooms or more space in a shared room. We happily allocate that extra space to our earliest sign-ups.

We can receive payment via Square or mailed check; thanks for paying in full at the time of registration.

Part of your registration is a non-refundable $200 commitment. We handle cancellations like this: 

before Sept 13: full refund of all but the $200

after Sept 13: no refunds. sorry. 


If you find someone to take your place, we'll refund all but a $50 admin fee.

Also: massages are an optional add-on arranged by us but paid separately by you.
